About me

Finding solutions, bringing a project from paper to a prototype, doing analysis and testing in a laboratory are certainly stimulating activities for me, which I consider a passion, as well as a job.

From design to production

What I do

Electronics Design

Analog and digital design with microcontrollers, linear and switching power supply stages, wireless communication modules, power drivers, analog sensors, digital devices, serial interfaces.

PCB Layout Design

SMD/THT single, double and multi layer layout design for industrial prototyping and production. Main used software: Autodesk Eagle Cad, KiCad.

Firmware Design

8, 16 and 32 bit microcontroller firmware design. Used devices: Microchip (PIC12, PIC16, PIC18, PIC32), Texas Instruments (MSP430, TivaC), Atmel (ATmega, Attiny).

Prototyping and testing

Prototyping with THT and SMD technologies. Testing and analysis with common lab equipments (oscilloscope, DMM, lab power supply, signal generator, spectrum analyzer).

  • Design and implementation of a multiple dummy loads for testing multiple secondary power supplies for a satellite sensor testing campaign [2018]
  • Design of a GSM alarm central unit and wireless peripherals module (schematics design, PCB layout, firmware development for MSP430 and TivaC microcontrollers, prototyping and testing) [2015]
  • Design of a data acquisition system for centimetric positioning of drones for aerial image acquisition, which uses a GPS-RTK technology (schematics design, PCB layout, firmware for MSP430, prototyping and testing) [2015]
  • Design and development of an educational model of a space exploration rover, used in educational activities in ESA-ESRIN and ASI (European Research Night 2014, 2015, 2019 and Open Days for Schools 2014, 2015, 2016).
